NYSWYSA Annual Awards

Each year, the New York State West Youth Soccer Association (NYSWYSA) hosts an Annual Award’s Banquet during its Annual General Meeting (AGM) Weekend in early November to publicly recognize individuals that have distinguished themselves for their exemplary voluntary contributions to the youth soccer community. 

Listed below are the annual awards that are available (clicking on the award name will open the nomination form):
–        Administrator of the Year
–        Volunteer of the Year
 
Sadly and much to the disappointment of the NYSWYSA Board of Directors (BOD), only two of the six available awards (Administrator of the Year & Boys’ Competitive Coach of the Year) were presented at last year’s banquet despite all of our efforts to obtain candidates for them.
 
The NYSWYSA BOD knows full well that each year there are deserving people for all of these awards. With this thought in mind, NYSWYSA President Rich Wagner requested all Board Members to actively promote the awards and also requested a volunteer to “champion” these awards. As the current NYSWYSA Award’s Committee Chairman, I was the logical person to volunteer for this position.
 
In that capacity, I am requesting anyone who reads this message for your help in advertising and promoting the aforementioned awards in any and all ways that are at your disposal. Please utilize any distribution lists that you have to disseminate this communication and information about these awards. I am trying to reach out to as many people as possible. This includes not only club and league administrators, coaches, managers and players, but their family members and friends as well. If there is anything that I can do to help you in this regard, please feel free to contact me.
 
With the outdoor season nearly upon us, now is the time to start thinking about these awards. It is never too early to watch for and identify potential candidates. Please don’t wait until the end of the season when it may be too late to do so or you can’t find the time to submit a nomination form. All of the forms can be found on and downloaded from the NYSWYSA Website (nyswysa.org).
 
It is my prime objective and that of the rest of the NYSWYSA BOD to be able to present all six of the aforementioned awards to deserving recipients at the NYSWYSA Annual Awards’ Banquet on November 12, 2011. Please help us to achieve that goal. The NYSWYSA wants to ensure recognition of individuals from our soccer community for their efforts and significant contributions to the youth participants and the game of soccer. It is only you that can make this happen and any suggestions you may have to achieve that end will certainly be welcome.
