Goal Grant Winners announced

Drawing held January 12, 2008

48 applications for a matching grant to purchase a set of small sided goals, were received by NYSWYSA prior to the December 21, 2007, two clubs later withdrew.  To determine which 40 clubs which will  receive the grants, NYSW held a random draw at TSE (Total Sports Experience, 880 Elmgrove Rd., Rochester, NY 14264) in the community room at noon, on Saturday, January 12th .   Representatives from two Clubs attended and witnessed the random drawing.

NYSW will email the goal grant winners as well as post the club names below, with the complete order of the draw. Each goal grant award winner will have up until January 31st to remit payment to the NYSWYSA, in the amount of $950 in the form of a club check made out to ’Score American Soccer.’ If payment is not received by the deadline, then the goal grant is forfeited.

The first 40 clubs listed have been selected as grant winners, numbers 41-46 are alternates.  Should one or more of the first 40  decide not to purchase a goal, the alternates (41-46) will be offered the opportunity to accept the grant.  The offer will be in order of the draw starting with 41 and ending with 46.

Goal pick up locations will be detertermined based on where the majority of goals are purchased.  The expectation is that this will likely be Buffalo, Rochester, or Syracuse, and member clubs will be responsilbe for transportation from those central locations.    Clubs which do not win the draw or clubs that wish to order more than one set of goals may still be able to eligible for reduced shipping costs by taking advantage of the bulk discount NYSW will be able to obtain by shipping a number of goals to one location.

It is anticipated that the goals will be delivered to one of the 4 locations by April 1, 2008. When a delivery date is determined, NYSW will formally announce when and where the goals will arrive.
